This refurbished Dell PowerEdge R640 is a part of Dells latest server range, Generation 14.
The R640 takes advantage of Intel’s new line of Xeon scalable processors. This system can hold a maximum of 2 2nd gen processors with up to 28 cores in each processors totaling up to 56 cores when using a dual processor configuration. This server can support up to 24 registered (RDIMM) or load reduced (LRDIMM) DDR4 memory modules when 2 processors have been selected. If only one processors will be installed in the system then only 12 memory slots will be available.
This particular refurbished server can house up to 4x 3.5” drives, consisting of SAS, SATA hard drives or SSD’s with even further options to include NVMe drives.
