The HP HSR6600 Series: High-Performance Services WAN Routers The HP HSR6600 Series is a line of high-performance services WAN routers designed for small-to-medium campus WAN edge and aggregation, as well as high-end branch deployments. These routers feature a compact multi-core centralized processing architecture, delivering robust routing, security, full layer 2 switching, and modular WAN and LAN interface options in a single, powerful 2 RU form factor. Robust Connectivity Options The HP HSR6600 Series offers a variety of WAN interface options, including Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, 10 GbE ports, OC3~OC48 POS/CPOS, and ATM ports. With flexible port selection, users can choose from a combination of fiber/copper interface modules, 100/1000BASE-X auto-speed selection, and 10/100/1000BASE-T auto-speed detection, as well as auto duplex and MDI/MDI-X. The routers also support internal loopback testing for maintenance purposes and loopback detection to protect against incorrect cabling or network configurations. High-Performance Platform The HP HSR6600 Series boasts a high-performance platform, capable of delivering up to 15 Mpps forwarding performance. Layer 3 Routing Capabilities These routers offer a range of layer 3 routing options, including static IPv4 routing, Routing Information Protocol (RIP), Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Border Gateway Protocol 4 (BGP-4), and Intermediate system to intermediate system (IS-IS). These protocols use various algorithms and protocols to determine the best routes for data transmission, ensuring efficient and reliable network performance. Layer 3 Services The HP HSR6600 Series also includes a variety of layer 3 services, such as Address Resolution Protocol (ARP), User Datagram Protocol (UDP) helper, Domain Name System (DNS), and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP).
